BOSTON (March 13, 2017) – Want to meet ‘Big Papi? The Children and Athletes Regenerative Medicine (CHARMED) Foundation recently announced it will honor legendary Boston Red Sox slugger David ‘Big Papi’ Ortiz as a co-recipient of the foundation’s first-ever Courage Award at the foundation’s inaugural gala on Saturday, April 22 at the Mandarin Oriental Boston.
Fans can make a donation through Celebrities for Charity, a charity fundraising platform, to enter a raffle with a chance of winning a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to enjoy an unforgettable evening with Big Papi at the Inaugural CHARMED Foundation Benefit and Gala.

The raffle winner will receive two VIP tickets to the CHARMED Foundation Gala on April 22nd at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Boston, a private meet and greet with Ortiz including a photo opportunity, a personalized autographed David Ortiz Jersey, and a $250 travel voucher.
The CHARMED Foundation Courage Award is given annually to honor a child and/or professional athlete who exemplifies the mission of the Foundation - to support the development and translation of regenerative medicine therapies specifically designed for the functional needs of children and athletes.
Ortiz will receive the award alongside his seven-year-old friend, Maverick Schutte, who has inspired the nation and Ortiz with his courageous battle against a congenital heart condition. The Boston-based foundation will honor Ortiz and Schutte at its inaugural gala on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at the Mandarin Oriental Boston.
